Excellent stay. Peace and quiet wonderful surranding area. Hot tub on balcony, fire place and kitchen is a big bonus. Very clean accommodation and friendly staff ;)
Very disappointing, the main section is more like an old apartment complex, not a "resort". Rooms need major upgrade. Bed was lumpy and small, a double. Tile was cracked and carpet was old and industrial type. Ceiling over shower was caving in, couch was old and uncomfortable. Door frame was cracked (see photos). Wood was not seasoned well and after 2 nights of trying to keep it burning, we gave up. Heard every step from the unit above early morning and late at night, sounded like they were wearing combat boots! The only reason why we gave it 2 stars was the friendly staff. This place is not worth over $300 with taxes per night.
We stayed in one of the couples suites located above the main lobby, it was a very cute little condo and we had our own personal hot tub on our deck that over looked the mountains. We had originally booked a regular suite but upon arrival they asked if we wanted to upgrade for an additional $75/night so we decided that was a reasonable cost to have our own personal hot tub.. and we were able to check in right away as our previously booked room wasnt ready, but the upgraded suite was ready. The suite was a bit outdated, but if youre looking for a comfortable, rustic spot to stay this was perfect! Hot tub was not as hot as we would have preferred and seemed a bit old/unkept but was still a nice way to relax after a day on the town. They offer kindling packages that come with matches and news paper, and logs so you can have a fire in your fire place, free of charge, as many as you want/need. The room over looked the mountains so the views were gorgeous from the deck/hot tub. The weird thing was that we made sure the flue was open in the fire place but our small fire really smoked up the condo.. it was nice that we basically had a little home away from home with a full kitchen, living room and bedroom.. would stay here again for sure, especially if Im staying for 3+ days.
Good location on tunnel mountain, about 5 min drive to Banff avenue. Nice view from some units. Wildlife can be spotted around the lodge. Staff are very nice. Main issue is cleanliness, not good at all. Poor sound insulation between rooms and adjacent units. Overall I'd would look for a better place next time if available within the price range otherwise I'd come again.
Really enjoyed our stay at Hidden Ridge. It's a little bit out of the town but the free bus service runs every 40 minutes and the views of the surrounding mountains more than makes up for it. The decor in the rooms is a little dated but they're clean, well appointed and everything worked. There's a wood burning open fire with plenty of free wood and kindling and a fully equipped kitchenette. There's free WiFi in the rooms and it's pretty good (we managed to stream Netflix)All in all we were really pleased and would stay here again.
