This was my first hostel experience. It was such a great first time. Stayed in a female dorm and it was great. The staff here was awesome. I did a Sunday hike with the hostel and the staff member which I forget her name now but she did an amazing job. We went to tunnel mountain and she shown us the views and knew the mountain peaks. The breakfast was good each day I went for it. I recommend this spot! Book well in advance
Nice hostel just up the hill from downtown. We stayed in the second building. The kitchen area was nice and well stocked with whatever you needed to cook. Stayed in a room with four bunks, each had a locker in the room.Hostel staff were pleasant and accommodating, especially when we showed up after the restaurant had begun closing.
I don't think I have ever been to a bad HI hostel. This one in Banff is pretty decent, there are many common areas to chill, pretty good restaurant for breakfast, room and bed are comfortable too, lots of storage, plenty of bathrooms on the same level as well. Overall we enjoyed our time there.
Had a really great time staying here with my girlfriend. The kitchen is great and makes it very easy to keep your own groceries and prepare some home-cooked meals while travelling. The staff were nice and very busy keeping the place tidy. For the price, I was surprised with how nice it was. There seemed to be an issue with the door security where anyone could walk into any room and the lockers in the rooms don't seem very secure tho.
I had a really pleasant stay at HI Banff. The place is really cozy and it really feels like home. Everything was clean all the time. The staff is really friendly and accommodating ! The location is great, 15 minutes from downtown by foot. And if you don't wanna walk, they provide free transit ticket for the guests, which is really great to explore the surrounding of Banff and do a couple of great hikes without a car. I will definitely stay again if I'm ever back in Banff !
